Brown

A few months ago, I dyed underneath my hair purple. I thought that it would be out by now, but i guess not. When I dyed it, I dyed my natural color. I didn’t bleach. Last week, I decided that I would like to dye the purple parts light brown. I tried to do that, and nothing changed. Any advice how to get the purple out of my hair?

You can’t lighten colored hair with color. You have two options: a) strip the color and then dye it; or b) dye it a darker color than purple. I guess a third option would be to go to a salon and have them fix it. But they will also tell you you can’t lighten color with color. Using color, you can only go darker, or if you are working on virgin hair, you can lighten it.

I had someone tell me I needed to sand them and then paint. If so, do I need to buy a special paint? Will the white paint cover the brown? Thanks for your help! This is my first home and I love everything about it EXCEPT the brown trim!!

Wash trim well with cleanser & water with Pine Sol, Spc N Span, Mr Clean, etc… or rough up surface well.
Kiltz primer
good quality white paint (be prepared to do 2 coats).

Our walls is like a turquoise (just not as green, more on the blue side) and all our fixtures are a dark wood brown. It’s very pretty, but I haven’t found a bedspread I was happy with. Just because the walls are blue, I wouldn’t have to get a blue and brown bedspread, would I? Would a cream and brown suffice? Also, what color should I do for the curtains? Thanks.

I am on birth control, a low dose pill and I have sex with no condom with my boyfriend because of this. Both of us have only ever been sexually active with each other.
Now I know that usually brown discharge even with a stringy quality in some cases tends to be old blood, but I also have a yeast infection. I want to know if the brownish discharge is related to the yeast infection (though I can’t find anything to support that it is a symptom of the yeast infection). OR if it is plainly old blood or the possibility of something else. There is no odour at all, so I hesitate to think BV. It has persisted for a week before my period and now that my period is done, the discharge continues in small amounts. Thoughts?

I live in an area that is very heavily populated with spiders especially brown recluses and black widows and my friend told me that placing eucalyptus in windows, around door ways and in closets, especially around shoes will deter spiders from coming in and hiding in those places. Is this true?

This was a tip given on HGTV for repelling spiders. You can get Eucalyptus sprigs at Craft Stores.

First, doctors can not remove poison by cutting your neck or any other way. Doctors do not slit open spider bites at all. So, don’t believe that one.

If you get bitten by a Brown Recluse, lots of things are going to happen, and the severity will depend on your allergies and your exact body chemistry.

Best case scenario: It hurts for a second, forms a pimple, pops and rapidly heals.

Typical scenario: The poison immediately goes to work doing what it does – causing necrosis of the tissue. This means that it causes death to the tissue in an ever-widening sphere. This can lead to infection, which is the most dangerous part of a Brown Recluse bite. Other systemic effects include delirium, excessive salivation, breathing problems, tremors and blurry vision. There is no cure for this spider’s bite, only treatments to help reduce the effects.

Worst-case scenario: Death either by the poison itself or infection later.

Pink or brown spotting can be a sign of pregnancy. Pregnancy test 7 days after a missed or short period for the greatest accuracy. Best wishes, G

I have been on birth control for 4 years and never had a problem. Now I have had brown spotting for the last 3 weeks. My last period was 3 weeks ago and I am supposed to get my next period next week. Ever since my last period, however, I have had brown spotting. I haven’t missed a pill all month either.

Brown spotting denotes blood that has been in there a while…. as fresh blood would be bright red. However, it is not uncommon for people to have spotting between periods when you are on BC. Consider whether you have switched your brand of BC, or if you have had a large amount of stress. Typically, if you call your doctor, and ask to speak with his/her nurse, she will call you back and answer any questions you may have, and help you decide whether you should be seen or not.

I want to purchase some yellow bedding. I need to keep the pillows and accessories I already have but they are shades of blue and brown. The accent rug is a short shag carpet with brown and lighter blue threads. I want to throw in my international items like my wooden animals, hand fan collection, etc. Do you think that would all work?

Yes I think it sounds beautiful. Yellow always goes with blue no matter what shade it is. You may even want to paint your walls a cream/light yellow, with one pale blue accent wall by the bed. Pop in some blue and yellow accessories along with what you already have and it will be great. Put a blue pillow in the center of the yellow pillows and don’t forget window treatments to match. Have fun.

Yes, you still can eat it, but it tastes much better and fresher if you cut the brown piece off. Or, you could make it into guacomole. Dip it into tortilla chips and mmmmmmmmm….. It tastes awesome. The reason the avacoado is brown is either is has been touched by oxygen, or has been squashed.
