Brown

I’ve unprotected sex with my husband and I am not on any birth control. My period is 1 week and 2 days late. I started to have brown discharge yesterday and has no smell, irritation, discomfort, etc…I also have light cramps…what could this mean?

sometimes the brown discharge IS your period. I’ve had this problem before and its always when my period is late. I got this when I was younger so I asked my family what it meant and they told me that sometimes when a period is late it will come later as a brown discharge because it is blood that has gotten old due to being late.

   there is a chance that you could be pregnant id do a pregnancy test to be sure though,you never know.
   or it could be the late periods old blood.
   but take a pregnancy test and use protection if you don’;t want a kid

   you might be getting your period.. but you should go take a test as these are signs of pregnancy. unfortunately PMS and preg signs are too similar to tell.

   It means your period is on it’s way. Brown discharge is "old" blood. You also say you have cramps which is another sign that your period will arrive in a day or 2.

   Oh, yeah I hate that. its totally normal and will happen once in awhile as you get older. When you get to be physically mature (aka pretty much ‘baby makin’ age, like 20s and such), your lady parts kind of do a self-flush. Kind of like an oil change on itself LOL – it’s perfectly natural and can be kinda tarry and sticky icky. Not my fav part about periods, but it doesnt happen every period either (at least not for me and Im 32). This can happen close to a period, so you can certainly expect to have your period any day. Sometimes periods are just weird like that. I dont think you’d be having the "brown fuzzies" if you were preggo or anything. I’d be more worried if it were yellow, greenish, or had an overwhelmingly foul odor. This only happens for a couple days, so if it’s going on all week, that might not be good.

   Also, it could be that you are actually having a light period with the fun brown stuff making an appearance for the first time.

   Aint it great to be a woman?? LOL
