The other half treated themselves at home and had very little scarring. These demonic spiders run ramped in southern NC. I spend a fortune on exterminators. Believe me, it’s cheaper than a hospital bill.

@jaguar4u2 there … @jaguar4u2 there is an antidote but I believe it is not that effective and only works during the first few hours after the bite…Even though it looks bad, I would be surprised if it ends up as anything more than a minor scar. All he would need is debridement of the affected area and adx (usually dapsone) in case of infection. I’ve even heard of adding sugar to the ulcer to help it heal too
I heard they had to … I heard they had to “put him down”. He used to look so good in the morning when his wife led him to the track and all that steam came off him in the cool air. He will be missed.

This isn’t a normal … This isn’t a normal reaction, that’s the kind of reaction someone who happens to be alergic. Some people get bitten by those and just swell a bit, or have a tiny crater from the necrosis, which is the norm. I’ve had the small crater, it’s about a centimeter in diameter.
