I want to put curtains behind my headboard, my comforter is chocolate brown, and my walls are light yellow. I want to use blues with the brown, but i’m not sure what color the curtains should be. I thought if i go with brown it would be too much brown. What do you think?

Use alternating blue & brown curtains (sheers) behind your headboard. Get blue sheets & pillowcases, patterned blue & brown decorative pillows for the bed. Sew yellow buttons on the pillows. Do a foot comforter folded at the end of the bed in blue & sew yellow buttons all along the top of the comforter. If you get an unfinished rod for the curtain, you could paint it yellow. Blue, yellow & brown go well together. repeat all those colors in candles & lamps, etc. I think it would look cool.

I really want to make my boring brown eyes pop. What are some good mascaras that brighten up brown eyes? Any other makeup tips for brown eyes is nice. Thanks!

I’ve read that blues don’t look that great on brown eyes, but purples do. Browns are a no brainer, they look good on every eye color. Don’t use black. Greens look great on darker skin tones, so if you’re really tan, you can use that. Make sure you’re eye shadow doesn’t match your outfit.

I would suggest trying the Almay eye shadow specific to eye color, I use it on my blue eyes and it looks pretty good.

Whenever I cook brown rice it always seems to come out hard. I give it more than adequate time to cook, but it never seems to come out right. Does anyone have suggestions for perfectly cooked brown rice?

Cooking brown rice can be a little tricky. Unlike white rice, brown rice still has mineral-rich layers of bran – the extra thickness means that brown rice takes longer to cook.

-For extra flavor, try cooking the rice in vegetable or chicken broth instead of water.

Here’s How:

-Soak 1 cup of brown rice for 1 hour and drain.
-Add the rice to a medium-sized saucepan and cook, uncovered, on medium-high heat until the rice is dry (2 – 3 minutes). Stir in a small amount of salt if desired.
-While dry cooking the rice, bring a kettle of water to a boil.
-Add 2 1/4 – 2 1/2 cups boiling water to the rice and wait for the water to return to a full boil.
-When the water has returned to a full boil, turn the heat down to medium-low (a range setting of about 3). Cover and cook the rice until the water is fully absorbed (about 40 minutes).
-***Do not stir the rice.
-Remove the rice from the heat, and let sit, still covered, for at least 10 minutes.
-Fluff the rice with a fork and serve.

Here how you cooked using Rice Cookers;

Brown Rice: 1cup rice to 2 cups water.
-Brown rice takes about 2 cups of water for each cup of rice.
-Some rice cookers will bubble over and make a mess if you add all the water at once.
-You can add the rice, half the water, put the cover on and turn your rice cooker on.
- When it shuts off, add the rest of the water, stir and turn the rice cooker on again.

**** Note : I’ll cooked Brown rice in rice cooker ones, but nothing compare to cooked it manual way.. I guess.

I want to know how to lighten my hair using hydrogen peroxide. Give me the steps and ingredients to do it please. Also how long do I have to sit in the sun to see a change in hair color. I just want my hair to get a medium brown or a light brown color. I dont want to be blonde.

Add peroxide in your shampoo. You WILL BE BLONDE.

Your skin get sunburned from the sun, like your hair. How long do you think until you get sunburned? That’s WHEN your hair gets lighter.

I am redecorating my livingroom, and would like to paint the walls chocolate brown. I have cream leather furniture and oak trim and gas fireplace. I also have wood window valances that have been covered with fabric that would need to be replaced. I just don’t know how to go about it. I think that reds would compliment nice but how do I do it and what other colours would anyone suggest with the brown walls? Thanks

I think red would be too dark with the brown paint and oak trim. A palette of brown, cream, periwinkle blue and a light shade of yellow would be nice, bright and inviting.

brown sugar is a mixture of sugar and molasses

dark brown sugar simply has more molasses than light brown

to make it light brown, just add more white sugar to it
