Would purple highlights look good on brown hair?

My hair is a medium shade of brown and I’m thinking of doing purple highlights. I really don’t want to bleach my hair because that alone is damaging enough. I’d much rather apply the purple highlights to my unbleached hair instead.
Would purple highlights look good? I’m thinking of going to Manic Panic’s Ultra Violet hair dye.

Yes it would look great! I have brown hair and purple highlights myself! But you have to bleach your hair to get it to show up. The thing about purple and pinks and blues, etc, is that they are stains. So they need a lighter color to grasp onto. So you have to bleach your hair or they will barely show. And manic panic does not work. I tried it. Only stayed in for a week. Go to a hair stylist and have them do it for you. It stays in longer and looks better. And it’s not that expensive.

Yes but to get the purple dye to take well
and look right, you’ll have to bleach highlights into your hair then cover them with the purple die!!
Bleaching isnt damaging (if your only doing it once)
think of it like this!
Bleaching removes colour – which thins hair and allows it to become damaged.
if u bleach it then apply die your taking away colour then adding it again. thus counter acting any damage.

No, i dont think that it would look right… I really don’t think that it would even take without bleaching your hair……

Yes, it would! I know with some purples you don’t need to worry about bleaching, though.

you could get purple in your unbleached hair depending on how dark your natural hair color. If you want a more prominent purple it is necessary to bleach your natural color for the color to adhere and show up in darker colored hair!

I think that would look awesome! I have no clue on the whole bleach thing im a guy lol XD but i still think it would look sweet if you got the purple to look good!

no it would not look good. Neither would bleaching your hair. Only ppl who had blonde hair as a child look good with blonde hair. Face it us brunettes do not look good blonde. I have been seeing girls with black hair with a chunck of purple where their bangs are. (ex: Buckwild from I love Money 2) I think thats cute
